Brisbane to Host Startup festival this Spring

A three week-long festival dedicated all things Startup is hitting Brisbane at the end of the month. Startup Spring is an initiative of StartupAUS is a not-for-profit entity with a mission to foster and build the community of technology entrepreneurship in Australia.

Brisbane’s leg of the festival will run from Tuesday September 17 – Friday October 4th.   The three week-long event will see various organisations host events in and around Brisbane. River City Labs will host over 15 different Startup focussed events in Fortitude Valley.

These events include the oZAPP Awards Roadshow, Scrum Workshop, Brisbane Angels Workshop, an Introduction to SAP Hanna Startup Workshop, Unity Developers Meetup, CocoaHeads Meetup, Silicon Valley 101 Panel Discussion, CoderDojo Workshop and an Open Games and App Testing Night.

In addition to these events, River City Labs will hold an Open Coworking Week from Monday September 30th to Friday October 4th for anyone wanting to take a look though River City Land or experience coworking for free. Desks, lounge areas and other workspaces will be available to come along and work from the Labs.

Local CEOs, Founders, Entrepreneurs and Startup veterans will be on hand to provide expertise and give talks on their experiences in the fast paced world of technology Startups.

Startup Spring is centred on action, innovation and education. It is the perfect place to get feedback on an idea, find co-founders, specific skill sets, or a team to help execute an idea. The festival provides budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their ideas to their fellow peers and receive feedback, potentially walking away with great advice and a co-founder or investor as well.
